Some POTA Stats for New York Parks

For the last few months I was busy adding data to all New York parks in the POTA system. This involved researching the entities, finding out some basic information like how one could access the entity, and how one would activate. In addition to that, we tried to add links to the official park information.

While doing that, there was some other information that fell out of this research that other might be interested in. Let’s start with ATNOs, the “All Time New Ones”. There is no reward in being the first activator (besides the feeling you get when you do something that nobody else has done yet). Having said that, here is the reward for for those who activated the most ATNOs in New York: You will find your call sign in the following list 🙂

In the complete list, there were 125 different activators who had at least one ATNO activation.

We have a lot of parks in New York (as of today, there are 797). Which parks were activated the most often, and how often exactly? As I write this, this data is already outdated, because there are people in New York parks right now 🙂 So these numbers are very likely bigger by the time you read this.

As of today, we have three parks that have not been activated, this morning there were four! Congrats to Molly W3NY on activating K-9063 today! All remaining parks are on islands, and at least on of them has severe access restrictions, so do your research before you go out and try to activate.

As I said, there is no reward for being the first, the hunters will hunt you regardless of whether you are the first or the one 100th activator.
